We are FLOCC, a Scotland-Netherlands collaboration pioneering sustainable textile innovation, transforming recycled cotton clips into high-quality, non-synthetic flock fibre for eco-conscious designers. Our small design team includes Sara Robertson and Sarah Taylor (Sara+Sarah Smart Textile Design), Annika Syrjamäki (Maison du Flock), and Margo Graham (MYB Textiles).
Sara + Sarah Smart Textile Design (Scotland, UK)
Sara + Sarah Smart Textile Design pushes the boundaries of textile design, blending expertise in print, weave, and smart materials. With over 30 years of pioneering research, the studio operates at the forefront of textile innovation, combining research-led practice with industry collaboration.
Since 2014, Sara + Sarah has helped fashion and textile companies develop groundbreaking products using advanced materials and smart textiles.
Specialising in high-risk, ambitious projects, they excel in securing funding, leading multidisciplinary collaborations, and connecting professionals across industries. Sarah is also a lecturer in MA Heritage & Exhibition Design and Design for Interactive Experiences at Edinburgh Napier University.
Maison du Flock (Netherlands)
Maison du Flock is a specialist print studio for haute couture and limited editions, founded by experienced textile designers Eugène van Veldhoven and Annika Syrjämäki. Based in the Netherlands and working globally, the studio pushes the boundaries of flock printing—a velvet-like print effect—through both experimental and classical techniques.
The studio works with a wide range of materials, from silk organza to wool, lace, sequins, and leather, offering effects such as gradient blends, metallic finishes, and two-tone textures. In addition to flocking, they explore caviar prints, extreme reliefs, reflective coatings, and other innovative surface treatments.
MYB Textiles (Scotland, UK)
MYB Textiles (Scotland, UK) is a heritage manufacturer specialising in Scottish Lace and Madras sheers, with a history dating back to 1900. They are the only producer worldwide weaving patterned lace on original Nottingham Lace Looms, all of which are 100 years old and up to 12.2 metres wide. Margo Graham, the Design Director, has been a specialist lace designer at MYB Textiles for 27 years.
MYB Textiles supplies high-quality fabrics for various industries, including theatre, film, interior design, and fashion. Their products range from specialist fabrics for hotel groups and domestic use to baby blankets, curtains, and table covers for mail order companies. The company is renowned for its commitment to quality and continued product innovation.
