Flocc is a collaborative partnership between Sara + Sarah (Scottish Borders), MYB Textiles (Ayrshire, Scotland) and Annika Syrjamaki of Maison Du Flock (The Hague, Netherlands) to transform MYB’s unique textile waste lace cotton clips into a natural flock fibre. This sustainable cellulose-based material can be used in its raw form to make paper or processed for electrostatic textile flocking, creating a soft, short velvet pile on fabric or paper. 

We are developing flock colours derived from the original waste textile cotton clips. At the moment as proof of concept we are developing an ecru cotton and grey cotton textile flocking fibre. We’ll be working behind the scenes on textile designs that highlight the unique qualities of this material, to showcase at Milan Design Week in April and Proposte in May 2025.

We received Worth Partnership Project funding giving us support and mentorship to get our collaboration off the ground.
